From 14th to 18th of September Madrid hosted the 2014 WPA Congress. Giampaolo Perna has been the co-chair of the symposium "Personalized psychiatry: a window on the future" giving a lecture on "Personalized psychiatry & panic disorder: from genetics to endophenotypes". More than 250 persons attended the symposium. He also participated to the symposium:  “A person centered model of psychiatric rehabilitation in Hospitaller Sisters caring network” with the lecture: "Efficacy of Short-Term Psychiatric Rehabilitation in inpatients with Mood Disorders: neuropsychological and psychosocial outcomes"

During the congress, the WPA general assembly approved the new WPA Section on Personalized Psychiatry having ad Chair Giampaolo Perna, co-Chair Charles Nemeroff and Secretary Alan Schatzberg with a panel of members to date composed by professionals from 13 countries. Soon a specific web site will be available.
